St. George Island Vacations Rental Policy FAQs

The weather is looking terrible and we may not be able to travel.  Can I move my dates or cancel my reservation?

  1. If you booked within the last seven days, we will gladly reschedule you for a future date or issue a full refund.
  2. If your home is open after you are due to depart, you can arrive up to 48 hours after your scheduled arrival date and add two nights to the end of your stay.

Regarding all other incoming guests: At this time, we are continuing to welcome guests with arrivals scheduled through the weekend, and our normal cancellation policy remains in place. We are not currently offering reimbursements for cancellations or date changes related to the weather. We know weather situations can bring a lot of uncertainty, and we’re here to help you navigate any changes along the way.

I have travel insurance, so I think I’m going to cancel now and submit a claim.

We completely understand your concerns about traveling with uncertain weather conditions, and we know it can be difficult to decide what is best for you and your family and friends.

If you purchased travel insurance, we encourage you to review your policy before making any changes to your reservation. Coverage can vary, and canceling before an official mandatory evacuation order is issued may affect whether your cancellation is covered. There may also be specific requirements related to the timing of an evacuation order and how it impacts the dates of your stay. Because every policy can be different, the travel insurance provider will be the best resource for confirming exactly what coverage applies to your reservation.

Our team is watching the weather very closely as well. At this time, we are continuing to welcome guests with arrivals scheduled through the weekend, and our normal reservation policy remains in place. We are not currently offering reimbursements for cancellations or date changes due to the weather.

Please know that we are frequently checking updates from the National Hurricane Center and our local emergency management officials. If conditions change or new information becomes available that affects your stay, we will reach out to you as soon as possible. We will also share important updates on our website and social media channels.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to monitor the weather, and we’ll do our best to keep you informed as the situation develops.

Can I delay my arrival and get a refund for the days I don’t stay?

While we aren’t able to provide a refund for the nights missed due to a delayed arrival, if the home is available, we would be happy to add those missed nights to the end of your stay so you can still enjoy your full vacation.

Can I move my reservation to a week in the spring for the same house?

At this time, we are continuing to welcome guests with arrivals scheduled through the weekend. Because our vacation homes are individually owned and your dates have been reserved specifically for your stay, we’re unfortunately unable to move reservations to different dates at this time. We understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for, and we truly appreciate your understanding.
